Bluefire Rules: Ad&d 2nd Ed. Rules Supplement ~ Noam Ben-Ari ~ Finally, It's finished! Well, almost. This work contains the result of a long and mentally exhausting research. The research included the reading of many rulebooks, net-books, campaign settings and of course years of playing the AD&D game. "The Bluefire Rules" are simply my personal "experiments" with the game mechanics The work is divided into chapters and organized exactly like the "Player's Handbook", for easy reference. The most important changes of this work can be found in chapters 7(magic) and 9(combat). For a long time I was searching for combat & magic systems that I was happy with. When I couldn't find them, I invented my own systems. The new combat system is completely original, and quite different than the traditional one, as one can easily see. It depends heavily on the proficiency system. The new magic system was developed with a little help from "The Net Wizard's Handbook 3rd ed." by Jim Gitzlaff, and it's kind of a mish-mash of the systems suggested in that work. Feel free to use any of the following rules. I hope you will find them more enjoyable than the official rules, like I do. The chapters that haven't been dealt with, like "Chapter 6: Equipment", will be dealt with in one of the next editions, if I'll ever get to writing one... Enjoy! Warning! - Some of the rules presented here are not self-dependent, and are based on other rules in this book. If you want to use only part of the rules presented here, make sure that they stand for themselves. |
